Curious how many people do –

A Makers Space is a space with lots of wood working, metal working, 3rd printers and lasers available for use. Some are non-profit coops and some for profit

Near me I recently discovered one with dues a 40 dollars a month with access to all machines and scrap supplies that I am qualified to use – and they teach people how to use machines they dont know how to use

2 spaces near me

themakerbarn.org

As I am jumping into this new "club" to cut some acrylic, bases and lots of other things I havent even considered – wonder if anyone has any thoughts or suggestions

1 – Yes use all the time
2 – Used to use
3 – Dont use
4 – Need your own machines and dont want to share
5 – Need to find out more

There are a few near me, but no. I have my own equipment.

There is one relatively near me. It is quite the location for cool equipment. Haven't used it, although did attend a Game Day there.

Local Libraries often have maker spaces

6. Have no use.

BTW is 'maker' the best name they could come up with for their hobby? I've always felt it was a lousy name, especially in a world where coffee servers are now called 'batistas' and everything is 'handcrafted'.;-)

I looked, found there is one near me, but it only has woodworking equipment, currently. Sucks to be me! Was really hoping they had laser cutters and 3D printers, but no joy. Cheers!

Both in Texas! Never heard of it, but then I live in a cave!

My daughter who is in California introduced me to them – lots of possibilities

Salutations !

Think there's one reasonably near me, possibly affiliated with local colleges, and another 'under construction'. Was meaning to check it out, before <bleep> epidemic, so have on to do list. The future lies ahead !

I don't but I would.

Nope. I'm familiar with deep space, neutral space, near space and n-space. No makers space.

I did Kinko's a lot until FedEx killed them.

2. Our library taught me how to make my own acrylic game tokens. They also taught me how to start with 3D printers. When the price of resin printers became so low, it was an easy step to come home and do it myself.

If I can't make it with my hands as hand tools sitting at my hobby desk, I'll try to buy it, or buy something close enough that I can modify with my hands and hand tools.

I need to find one near me, since I would definitely use it.

There is a small one here at work, about 100 feet away from my desk. I have had some 3D terrain printed.
