Or perhaps a small gas giant – if there is anything such as a small giant:

Nice. I like how you didn't split the globe in the middle, gives it a noticeable bulge in the middle. (Not unlike some gamers I know, myself included.)

Personal preference: I might have gone for more red, because that's more sinister and ominous. The blues and greens are more friendly and inviting. (Of course, that could be a trap!)

Did someone say Methane?

Just think about it, a planet run by cows! The ultimate Methane world.

Thanks, Stryderg, red and ominous is coming up next time. The methane world is for the Hydrans in Star Fleet Battles, but maybe they're really space cows!? Bashytubits' picture is way cooler than the artwork for the Hydrans.

I bought some of the swirl colored, plastic playground balls for this type of thing. They are pretty large, as planets should be, but can be deflated to a smaller size, if needed/desired.

They used to sell for a dollar, but are probably $5.00 USD or so now, due to the devaluation of the US dollar.

Still, worth considering in a pinch.

Thanks for the tip, Thresher.

Looks good Mr.Caliban.

Thanks, Kirk, I've just seen your comment on the blog too – thanks for looking. I have just finished the paint job on a few more Kzinti plus a red and ominous gas giant; hoping to get pictures up for those soon.
