Does anyone know anything about the units and their uniforms that were present in the cape at the end of the Ditch rule there is the early 1800's? |

From 1786-1795, part of the Souht African garrison was the Kapregiment, a mercenary outfit supplied by Wuerttemberg. It consisted of a Staff (36 all ranks), a Grenadier Company (177 a.r.), a Jaeger Company (185 a.r.), 8 Fusilier Companies (each 175 a.r.) and an Artillery Company (185 a.r.). I don't have any information on the uniforms. The regiment went into captivity in 1795. |
