Anyone do DBA solo? What mechanics do you use? I have lots of DBA 2.2 Armies but lack my opponent who is chronically ill & is unavailable so I want to try solo. Also interested in solo HOTTS & TSATF solo thoughts. Paul |

Been playing DBA solo ever since the first edition, right up to the current version 3.0. It's an IGO-UGO game so it really doesn't need any special solo rules. |

MajorB is correct, but if you would like other possibilities, I would suggest using the Solo variant at DBA Fanaticus. The link to the pdf can be found in the second post. link |

I think it's possible to play any set of rules solo with a bit of thought and planning. |

I've done a little TSATF solo. I assign each side orders and try to carry them out. Since you still rely on the turn of a card, it can still be quite intense. |

Yes, I have done lots of DBA solo. The PIP mechanic works fine as a solo mechanism in itself, you don't really need to put in additional ones. |

Thanks for all your thought & suggestions. Looks like I'll get some gaming done in 2022! Paul |

Yes the sheer convenience of DBA helps for solo, as well as the unpredictable Pips! |

Another idea is to put 5 counters of one colour and 1 different coloured counter into a bag. Play your first PIP then draw out of the bag. Keep playing PIPs until the odd colour comes out. For moves requiring more than one PIP, draw until you get enough. If you draw the odd colour before you get enough then play the PIPs you've drawn and end your turn. It does tend to focus you more than dice rolls. Cheers Jim |
