Can I paint these Polish lancers link
as the "red lancers" and escape the wrath of the button counters? I'm thinking 1812ish. A foggy memory says I can.

The review at the link says they are OK as Red Lancers.

That is totally unacceptable!
You want to paint your miniatures however you desire?
I'm sure the emperor will be taking back your Marshall's baton!
Paint on my friend. Very few will know the actual difference.
