… Program That Includes Building An International Lunar Station By 2035 "China and Russia will sign a new space Cooperation Program for 2023-2027 next year, which will include a plan to create an open and inclusive International Lunar Research Station (ILRS) by 2035, Russia's national space agency Roscosmos told the Global Times in an exclusive interview. Two communist nations signing a treaty to work together on a project. Since communist nations are well known for breaking treaties it's going to be fun to watch which one will break it first. |

Publicity stunt. Bezos and Branson will leave these guys in the dust. There are already going to the moon earlier than this, and the space station hotel thing will happen even sooner. We have seen all the great products communism makes. Quality control is their middle name. |

It will be interesting to see why and when conflict on the moon begins, and what they fight over. I suspect it will be scarce resources, and for survival – air, water, ice (for air and water), food, fuel, etc. Not sure if Helium 3 will be in the mix, but suppose it could be too. |

Short answer … yes … the USA is losing to the PRC/CCP in a lot of areas. Why? IMO, it comes down to good leadership. |

Maybe not, Legion. People like Branson, Bezos and Musk are into this big time. They will beat any government because they are better run and know how to make money. NASA is actually partnering with them, I believe, on data sharing and other projects. The Chinese can grab coffee from a lunar Starbucks when they make their first landing. The Russians will arrive in a used Vigin Atalntic shuttle. You heard it hear! |

"yes … the USA is losing to the PRC/CCP in a lot of areas. Why? IMO, it comes down to good leadership". I will grant the Chinese leader Xi's and the CCCPs long range plans for increasing the strength of their military forces. Sadly, just as much blame can be laid at the almost total lack of leadership and direction for same by our Presidents and congressional leaders, who are virtually derelict in their duties. At best, we have very "bad" leadership in most cases. Sadly, their political terms don't lend well to long range planning for the USA, so a small, effective, and new bureau should be made to help our country with this issue – looking multiple decades to a century into the future to help keep the USA in the game. Without that, I suspect we will lose our military and economic dominance. Increasing taxes to the highest rates in the world doesn't help improve our economic strength. |

Excellent fodder for Moongrunt scenarios. I have a new 1/96th scale Lunar Lander model inbound from eBay for the USA/Allies. I'll need to make some for the Soviets/Russians, and Chinese. Seen some designs and looks like it shouldn't be too hard with PVC pipe, round plastic or wooden balls, and some steel rod and plastic styrene tubing for the lander legs. I'll probably use thumbtacks for the landing gear pads. Might want/need to get a soldering iron to make the leg parts, but looks to be pretty straight forward. Ordered a copy of Stark's War – paperback, which has the moon as a combat setting. Can't wait to read it. |

Maybe not, Legion. People like Branson, Bezos and Musk are into this big time. They and some others are basically the US Space Program NASA is actually partnering with them, I believe, on data sharing and other projects. Even if NASA does this willingly. The PRC/CCP will take or get the information. The Russians will arrive in a used Vigin Atalntic shuttle. The PRC too … and it would not be any surprise, IMO. who are virtually derelict in their duties. At best, we have very "bad" leadership in most cases. I have to agree … |

Our taxes are not the highest now, and the rich have sheltered unknown trillions from taxes. Our corporate and individual tax codes are a swiss cheese of loopholes. I very much agree with you otherwise. And your scenario idea is brilliant, the first time I have been interested in a sci fi gaming concept. I think the plausibility is a big factor. I even went to the Moongrunt website. Keep us posted! |

Our taxes are not the highest now, and the rich have sheltered unknown trillions from taxes. Our corporate and individual tax codes are a swiss cheese of loopholes. Congress makes the tax laws & loopholes as they don't want to pay any more taxes than they have to. As many of them are "rich folk", not plebians, riff-raft, etc., like the many who voted for them. Every time some in Congress talks about someone else using the loopholes they put in the laws. They should look in the mirror. If some rich businessman, corporations, etc., uses those loopholes, the Congress has no room to point a finger. |
