I got THE DAY IT RAINED MILITIA hardback for Xmas, and look forward to reading it; it is very long and detailed and well-documented. I'll do a review when I've read it.

BUT, how many have seen this very fine website on the battle, with a lot of rather good illlustrations?

Looks like a good read with a game in there somewhere.

Yes. I have enough toys to do it in a 1:2 scale. British had 35 dragoons (British Legion),20 New York Volunteers, 60 militia. Patriots had more, maybe as many as 250 militia, arriving in waves. Be a nice chance to use my MBA Shenandoah farmhouse and outbuildings.

Interesting read. Thanks for the link.

It's a very good read. I've also visited the site and walked the grounds.

Perfect scenario for Sharp Practice 2.

HEY! Christmas is tomorrow! You are going to get into trouble for opening your presents early.

doc mcb24 Dec 2021 7:43 p.m. PST

Yeah, it was necessary due to circumstances. Daughter and son-in-law were here on 23rd, and David and his bunch were to come but came down with Covid, so will miss celebrating with both us and Lucy's folks. We were all together over TG so the other halves of the families got priority on the 25th. So we opened presents with daughter on 23rd, and zoomed to watch grandkids open their's. Tomorrow will be just the two of us, eating a lot of left-overs since we had planned to feed six more.

But I have several new books and a bunch of new minis to paint, so it will not be too blue a Christmas.

A quiet day just the two of you eating leftovers sounds like a nice time to me Doc. Merry Christmas.
