Somebody posted an inquiry here in Spanish once. I copied it to Google translate, and it was a request for gaming group info about 2 counties over. I composed a response, and plugged it into Translate to render it into Spanish, then posted it in the thread. I got Spanish spam in my email for a year and a half. I think I still do from time to time, but it gets stopped by my spam filter. |

I searched on Amazon one time for books on the Sino Japanese War at Sea. There was like 1 book on the subject and a bunch of books on related topics. Below it was a row of suggested items,…people who searched for this item searched for these items too… Sino French War

I feel this way about my cell phone. I got mine to use in a crisis when traveling & to save on long distance calls. I only got calls from those folks or businesses to whom I'd given my number & I still prefer to use my land line for most purposes. I now get more cell solicitations & ads each day than I do worthwhile messages. |

I'm really pathetic because I do Google Surveys, getting paid in Play money for them. I've made close to $40 USD this year. I run ad blockers, and Gmail is excellent at blocking spam. |

My favorite is , I fill out surveys online. One time they wanted my name so I signed it Fred Noneofyourbusiness. I have received a few texts & emails for Fred. it makes me smile everytime |

I bought a new printer for my PC and provided my email when I registered it with the mfr. Shortly thereafter I was inundated with a ton of BS emails, none of which had anything to do with PCs or peripherals. I've been very busy with the "unsubscribe" function at the foot of the emails. |

The spam filter on my email is from work which is uber efficient – thank God because every day the spam trap is full of the above noted material |

What got me was doing Google searches for work-related items at my job and then getting ads for similar products on Facebook at home! |
