I'm interested in a Naval game that can be played on your floor and finished in an evening.

In particular, I'm looking to recreate battles like The Coral Sea & Midway where the fleets never came within range of each other and all the combat was done via planes.

Can Warlords Victory at Sea do this with some minor alterations or should I be looking at a different game?

Thanks much.

It can handle the tactical aerial attacks on ships, but not the search phase.

Maybe combine it with a game like AH Midway.

You can put the surface forces on separate tables, if you want to get off the floor.

Use a map, or hex map for the operational search and aircraft movement phases.

Conduct the tactical attacks on the table(s).

AH Midway (check out the Coral Sea variant) and WotC Axis and Allies War At Sea

Thanks all. Double Blind tables sounds like a great idea in this case (or floors as space permits).

I agree with AH's Midway, but the older version would be quicker and easier.
I believe you can get the whole thing from here:

There's also a Coral Sea variant available.
