StoneMtnMinis Very enjoyable but at the same time unreal, in that everything is so clean and bright. You don't get the cracks, the weather worn and dirt, not to mention the smells that existed in reality. |

That's a pretty awesome video! |

Gazzola; be honest. You're that guy that as a kid got enjoyment out of telling the younger kids that "Santa Claus was a fake." weren't you? |

I don't think most people want Ancient Roman smell-o-vision, but I get your point. Who knew the Roman's had drones back then? They certainly aren't in any of the WRG lists. |

By complete coincidence, I watched this very video last night on my own time--breathtaking! I also watched--and highly recommend!--this one on the Baths of Caracalla: YouTube link Oh, to be a time traveler who had taken three years of Latin in school seriously! TVAG |

Very impressive! For better or worse, my imagination doesn't seem to do a very good job of reconstructing ruins. Some people may look at a foundation and scattered stones and turn them into complete buildings, but not me. I appreciate things like this, which give me a better idea of what the ancient world was like. Grelber 79th PA--If dogs ruled the world, we would have smell-o-vision. |

Great video, thanks for posting. I was looking at spots around still standing ruins and remembering a sunset walking tour my daughter took us on in 2019, thinking "there's a road there now" or "Wow, what a cool looking building that was, only a couple of walls now". |

My biggest complaint with this video is, that while I recognize many of the buildings, there are some I have no idea what they are. It would be helpful to have a brief label appear over the major buildings or monuments. |

I think the buildings could really use a brushed-on coating of Minwax Polyshades Royal Walnut urethane-stain. They would look… Superb! With that sullied, aged, lived-in, weathered look. Cheers! |

Murphy. I find it sad and concerning that when someone makes a comment or criticism people like you have to find some way to insult them. People you don't know. People you only know via whatever they write on a wargaming website. Do you always judge people so quickly? Perhaps you should have a look at yourself before bravely throwing out silly and inaccurate insults against others. In terms of the video. I love such reconstructions of the past. They almost bring them to life, apart from the lack of dirt, smells and other basically weather and human creating factors. But I'm sure your own knowledge of the ancient period, locations and research will have informed you of the poverty and slums that also existed in these wonderful places. In other words, the reality of the past, not the lovely, perfectly clean technological reconstructions, as good as they look. In other words, what I'm saying is, I suggest you think before you make silly accusations. I'm sure you can do it! |

I meant to add that for anyone interested, something on similar lines can been seen on TV. You can see reconstructions of Rome, it's buildings and other locations, alongside how they look now, in the TV programme Blowing Up History: The Seven Wonders of Rome. This programme is being shown again on the DiscoveryHistory Channel (Virginmedia channel 257 & 261) on the 26th and 27th of December. 257 at midnight and repeated at 1am on 261. Well worth a view. |
