I've started on a big 1670s project, and the first units are rolling off the production line.

These look great, Simon. 👍 Perhaps the most spectacular yet?!

Amazing work – as I recall the successor of this unit is the Princess of Wales' Royal Regiment and the battle honour Tangiers is the oldest in the British army; great brushwork to honour a great tradition

Some of the best basing I have ever seen, very realistic – thanks for posting.

Well done Simon.

"the battle honour Tangiers is the oldest in the British army"

Although to be strictly accurate ‘Tangier' (etc) is the earliest campaign for which an Honorary distinction has been awarded, but since it was only authorised in 1909 it can't be considered the oldest.

Depending on how we calculated it, the oldest might be the one-offs of Namur 1695 (Royal Irish) or Emsdorf 1760 (15th KLDgns) authorised in 1768, though some might perhaps consider the distinction of ‘Gibraltar' (12th, 39th, 56th, & 58th) for the Great Siege of 1779-83, awarded in 1784 -to be "placed upon their grenadier and light infantry caps and upon their accoutrements and drums, as likewise upon the second colours of their regiments."

PS. (lost in the mix) Very fine figures!
