With Christmas approaching, I was attempting to add a piece to the family nativity scene. The clerk informs me that I have a set of 4" Fontanini, and Fontanini no longer supports the 4" scale. Would I like to start over from scratch in 5" scale?

It was a sadly familiar conversation. It's just not one I normally have in a religious supply house. (I ordered the elephant from the 5" range. Few people know better than miniature wargamers that trees and elephants tend to be a little underscale in the larger sizes.)

Go HARD on ebay to gather in as much 4" as you can. Next November ebay all your 4" and either transition up to 5" or switch to a vendor less likely to play 3 card Nativity.

Or just keep your 4", knowing what you have is likely to be all your going to get.

I had no idea Nativity Scenes issued updated codexes.

Do you use more dice for a 5" elephant?

I thought this was going to be about Mark's business.

Since it's a diorama, use "forced perspective".

The 6" range will have skulls and power armor.

Are you allowed to substitute figures from a different manufacturer, or is that not playing cricket?

jhancock, I wouldn't hesitate if I found something which matched the style and sold individual pieces, but I've had no luck. In fact, Fontanini pretty much owns the market for pieces sold individually.

Tom, 79th, I'm not the one who named his company after a phenomenon. (Flashing back to bands with names like "War" and "America." The late 60's and 70's had no redeeming features.)

JSchutt19 Dec 2021 7:59 a.m. PST

4" is not a scale…..
