I just realized that the reference Panzer Depot 1/144 WWII German Sdkfz233 armored car gray (8025C) is not at 1/144 scale, but smaller ?

It is the same for the other references of WWII vehicles of Panzer Depot ?

thank you

Possible it is at 1/150?

hi EEE ya Supporting Member of TMP15 Dec 2021 10:28 a.m. PST

Dan Cyr, were you able to verify it yourself ?

Their models are super beautiful, but there is a problem of size! Fortunately I only have 5 !

I agree, Panzer Depot models look great. However 1/144, Ive seen also referred to as 10 – 12mm, is not always easy to find or the scale to be precise.
One site I recall listed their 10 – 12mm and stated they scaled their models closer to 1/150 scale.

Part time gamer, I agree, Panzer Depot models look great, but they are not at 1/144 th scale but 1/150 th scale!

Or there were differences in frame sizes between the Sd.Kfz. 233 "Stummel" and Sd.Kfz. 234/3 "Stummel"?

Thresher0116 Dec 2021 4:34 p.m. PST

The Panzer Depot models are in the smaller scale.

I thought they were 1/160th, but perhaps 1/150th is correct, since that is a common European scale for many companies.

PD will enlarge their models to 1/144th if requested, for a slightly more expensive cost.

I don't know if Panzer Depot scales at exactly 1/144, the few that I have I bought because I couldn't get those particular models anywhere else. I bought them in unpainted kit form when they used to sell them that way as their paint jobs were subpar – at least to me. In the last picture the Marder 1 is from them.

Panzer Depot

Scale – 1/144;
Material – resin (pre-painted);
Range – quite a large and growing range for major nations;
Vehicles – sold individually;
Infantry – none;

Detail – good detail (plastic and resin generally have more of the small details than metal);

Painting quality – first few release were not bad at all, but most including all new ones are pretty poor. they are also not always put together that well and have to be rebuilt. Given the price this is not good! Not a good option if other alternatives available;

Size of models – compare well with all 1/144;

General observations – very expensive for wargaming but also given they are expensive I would have expected a much better product in terms of being put together and painted. I have only used where I have to e.g. Dicker Max and Sturer Emil and they needed some work to make them look good.

3D printing can be your friend.

So there were differences in frame sizes between the Sd.Kfz. 233 "Stummel" and Sd.Kfz. 234/3 "Stummel"?

Yes, if by frame size you mean length, width and height they are not the same.

Hmm, maybe what I am looking for

hi EEE ya Supporting Member of TMP18 Dec 2021 11:55 a.m. PST

My reference Panzer Depot 1/144 WWII German Sdkfz233 armored car gray (8025C) measures 38mm long maximum !

So it is not at 1/144 scale, but smaller !

Personal logo Dan Cyr Supporting Member of TMP18 Dec 2021 1:00 p.m. PST

I print them at 45.69mm long, but I'm not sure that is true 1/144 scale as I'm scaling them up from 1/200 at 138.89 percent.

machinehead Supporting Member of TMP18 Dec 2021 1:57 p.m. PST

Using this scale converter, link the 1/144 234/3 should be 41.8mm long and the 233 40.6mm long.

hi EEE ya Supporting Member of TMP19 Dec 2021 3:58 a.m. PST

Yes, I am not going to dream, it is too small. I am waiting for a CG Dynamix M24 Chaffee tank and I will thus see if it is bigger than the one I have from panzerdepot, if it is the case it will be careful with Panzerdepot models.

hi EEE ya Supporting Member of TMP23 Dec 2021 2:11 a.m. PST

I was right because Panzer Depot wrote to me: "Now all our products are made by the 3D printing machine so the size is 100% 1/144 scale.

So the items you bought are 1/144 scale, except this sdkfz233 winter camo model ".

hi EEE ya Supporting Member of TMP24 Dec 2021 9:17 a.m. PST

In any case, the M24 Chaffee from Panzer depot and exactly the same length and width as the M24 Chaffee from CG Dynamix!
