I Wonder why this interesting Book link hasn‘t been announced here (Armand, where are you :-)

Yesterday I got this Book and perhaps some of you know Vincent Bourgeot from his articles written for „Soldats Napoléoniens" presenting objects from his Collection. He‘s well connected to several collectors in France and so he Chose 200 out of 1.400 (!) Military objects for this Book.

The Selection is well done as all different troops of the french napoleonic army is covered and the presentation is very good.

But check the preview given a the link of the editor‘s page … the Prize is o.k. And the Book is a very good Addition to the two Books about the Military Collections of Empéri and Musée de l‘Armée (one of them also written by Bourgeot).

Wow what a superb exposé of material from the era.
Yes certainly worth the price given the exquisite photography and detailled explanations given.
Thanks Markus!
I would order as soon as possible, except apparently New Zealand and most of the rest of the world doesn't exist to them!
cheers

@Dave: I sent the link to Berliner Zinnfiguren and they've ordered some books to sell by their own. Just go to link and check regularly whether they have copies of it to sell. I'm sure they will send them to the other side of the world :-)

And I think you won't be disappointed of the book … greetings from Berlin

P.S. I'm looking forward getting the edition of the "Camp de Dresde" link during the next days (another "must-have" this year)

Thanks Markus for making this possible.

On the 'wish list' must be the Albrecht Adam 1800 book of plates that vW alluded to in another thread, but I've not found. Would be indeed satisfying to recognise the diversity of army dress worn versus regulations that provide little except to the 'home guard'. [I.e. is the plethora of stereotypes actually true, or have we been conditioned by limited access to resources until now.??!]

Yes the 'Sauerweid' art comes with an impressive list of French experts to commentate. I'm almost too scared to ask…

Dave, you mean that book link … and the Munich Stadtmuseum is on a "must visit" list for me, as they not only have the colored sketches of Albrecht Adam done in 1800 but also other sketch diaries of later times.

If I just had more time to follow the hobby …
