"Things You Can't Do on TMP" Topic

Does the holiday season make people a little crazy? Over the last few days, we've had some people make some astounding posts on the forum, so I want to reiterate some basic rules.

1. No Religious Bigotry

If your reaction when a religion is mentioned in the course of an historical discussion is to immediately attack that religion, you're on the wrong website, buddy. We don't tolerate that.

2. No Attacks on the TMP Community

If the reason you are here is to tell the TMP community how dumb they are, you don't deserve to be here. Take your arrogance somewhere else.

3. No Attacks on TMP

You would think this would be obvious. No, we will not tolerate anyone posting about 'defunding' TMP, no matter how righteous you think your argument is, or why you think the TMP community was wrong to vote for particular policies.

You can now go back to your previous scheduled holiday festivities. And don't forget to tip the staff editors, let's make their Christmas bright and save Editor Ellah's home from foreclosure (see other post on this board).

Easy enough rules but some people can't/won't agree to them.

Most all societal norms and mores can be distilled to one:

Don't be an ***hole.

Yes, but most social norms (as opposed to moral principles) consider being rude to "those people" not a problem.

"Defund TMP"? Did someone out there actually mistake this privately-run business for a public utility?
