I'd have gone for a Schism of Scots. But Drookit works as well. As ever, a nicely thought out report.

My favorite so far is "A Grievance of Scots", published Feb, 2020. link

Oh indeed. You don't want to meet a Scot with a grievance, especially not in a dark alley.

Drookit is a good Scots word but unless it was a rainy battlefield I'm not sure it works 😀

Maybe go with a Stramash or a Rammy of Scots?

Red, let's assume the Scots were fighting at home. Agreed, it doesn't work so well if the Tuaregs were defending :)

LADG has an initiative system, the winner decides who is the attacker, and the defender must be in one of his home terrain types.
For the Scots, it is only mountains.
But the initiative dice off has a number of factors for bonuses. The quality of your commanders, and how many Light Horse and Light Infantry you have.
So the Scots initiative bonus is only a 1. The commanders ratings of 2 (divided in half) plus light horse of zero, and Light Infantry, of which they can only have 2 elements, and not enough for a bonus.
I think the Taureg bonus was either 3 or 4, and so they won the dice off. So they chose to defend in the desert.
