One of the games played at this month's meeting of the DWG was a very fun prototype game of a new set of rules developed by two club members.

picture

The rules and the game system have been deliberately built around the films that capture the iconic battles of the Zulu War, particularly Zulu-1964 with the late great Sir Stanley Baker ably supported by Sir Michael Caine in the roles of Lts. Chard and Bromhead.

Much fun was had and plenty of VCs earned and if you would like to know more then just follow the link to the club blog.

Looks fantastic and linking the game to the film is a great concept.

"Here they come, black as hell and thick as grass!"

- quote from Rorke's Drift defender
(although sources vary as to which soldier said this).

For years, I've been working on painting a BUNCH of 6mm figures (and buildings) for this battle. My goal is to get them all painted before going blind or insane.
