The In Deo Veritas quick reference sheet has modifiers for close range shooting by foot and mounted units along with a close range artillery fire modifier. Any ideas what range counts as close range?

For example, an infantry brigade has a normal range of 3", so is close range classed as being 1.5" or less? Field artillery has a range of 12", would close range count as 6", 3" or something else?

Thanks in advance for views on how you interpret these ranges.
