Oh, swell….

When the balloon goes up, expect this to happen courtesy of the Fifth Column already forming in the US of folks who want to end this country.

Don't know if it would actually be effective – but it sounds a heck of alot cheaper than one of the tomahawks!

An eco-terrorist might be an obvious assumption, especially since in theory it might appear to victimless…. Though tell that to the family person who breaks their neck falling downstairs! However, I wouldn't rule out potential extortion or someone with some weird personal vendetta against the state or power company.

We have a substation in my jurisdiction. They are surprisingly easy to damage.

Apparently there have been a number of attacks on our power grids – somne successful and some not.

The do seem to be increasing in frequency which is why our grid needs to be better protected, and especially hardened against cyber attacks, since that IS only logical.

You can be though that not one thin dime in the "infrastructure bills" being floated and approved will actually be included to actually address the vulnerability, since most of our "leaders" continue to ignore critical issue like this, and want to grandstand and spend money on far more useless projects which they believe will make them look good.

Tens of millions will die in our country if our enemies ever do take down our energy grid in a serious way.
