I use them in 15mm. I use them in 28mm IF it is a skirmish level game. And I agree with the four reasons not to. |

They historically take up lots of space. |

I like to use limbers in my games. The reasons not to include them are understandable except for "clutter". |

They look great on a board but the price can really add up, especially in 28mm |

Actually I do use them for 25mm ACW |

Remember that article by Peter Guilder in Wargames World back in '78? The one about how much room an artillery battery took up in real life and therefore why it was so ridiculous to let players deploy their batteries on bridges, and similar? Not having limbers just encourages players to do that sort of thing. Limbers should be there for the purpose of encumbering the player so he has to allow the proper amount of space for his artillery. (OK, maybe it wasn't '78, but you know the article I mean!) |

'Coz my siege guns are all mounted on naval carriages? Field guns always have limbers, though; the battlefield just looks "funny" without them. |

All the rules written and published by TVAG require the presence of limbers and, depending on the scale/circumstances, caissons with batteries of multiple miniatures. Ditto for Supply Wagons, etc. Few things drive me battier than seeing "batteries" moved about and placed as if they were Lt. Machine Guns! TVAG |

There is also en aesthetical problem: How do you depict the cannon at the limber. - If it is attached on the base – you have to bring the cannon with crew to the table. And it looks wrong, to have another cannon with the limber. - If you use the unlimbered cannon model with crew – it looks wrong when limbered. - If you use a loose cannon model for both. You have to bring the crew base to the table and you have a loose cannon, that usually doenst fit right with the crew. (Same problem if you have single based crew models). |

My limber base has empty tail at end to hold a 2 figure 1 gun stand, when moving the other guns to battery are off table. When unlimited guns move on table and the 1 limber for battery moves behind. |
