Ok, besides taking 4 days to reset a password has anyone had UPS pick some place to deliver instead of your home? I had a package from CZ come but it was delivered to a local Advance Auto Parts store, not my house. Apparently AAP can accept packages for people in case you're not home, etc but I never picked this and rarely ever go to that store (like 1x in 5 years). Is this the new UPS plan or was this just some freak of what brown can do for me (besides actually getting a package to my house, you know "delivery")?

I've had it happen when I've ordered alcohol as they tend to drop it off at a place like that instead of looking for a signature. One of the reasons I don't order alcohol anymore.

Order alcohol? Wouldn't it be easier just to hit up your local packie?

Might be the porch pirates are busy in your area and they do this to try and keep your package safe if you're not home. The real question is can you drop off a package at AAP to ship via UPS.

Not sure on sending but never had a package taken yet. Plus the combo dogs barking means I get it before the driver leaves. It would have been nice for UPS to tell me they are doing this. It's also odd since we have a UPS store equidistant from my house. I'm sure they have some reason but my dealings with UPS the last couple of years have been very poor when other deliveries arrive without issue.

"hit up your local packie"? What's that mean?

I never have anything delivered to my home. I rent a small storage unit, and part of the deal is that the company that manages the storage facility will receive packages for its tenants -- sign for them and call you and everything. They're open during regular business hours, when most people (like me) are at work and not at home to receive packages.

UPS and USPS always figure out how to get to the front desk. Amazon is at about 75% success now, after a rough start. The first few times, they just threw the package over the gate.
