Walmart is now carrying large, 7" tall (haven't measured them, but that's the size claimed on the packaging) Predators and Aliens figs.

The price for such large figs is quite reasonable, at $10.00 USD a pop, and the figs look decent, though I think some could use a repaint.

There are three different Predators in varying colors, and IIRC, 4 different Aliens.

I was curious about the odd scale of 7" for the Preds, but when comparing them to the smaller, roughly 6" human, GI Joe figs, I think that makes sense. Sadly though, the 6" GI Joe figs are double the price, at $20 USD each.

Anyone know of a cheaper source for the Joes, and/or other 6" military figures that would be useful to oppose them?

Clearly, at this scale, terrain will be a bit problematical to make and store, having to be very large compared to the standard terrain used for most, much smaller scale, minis games, but with the figs being fully poseable, and such a bargain, I couldn't resist picking up a few.

Now, just need to work out some house rules and scenarios, along with creating some terrain to use them with.

Someone mentioned using Galactic Heroes, so I may need to give that a try first.

I don't know if terrain is "a bit problematical".

Just play in your back yard, wasn't the Predator hunting in the jungle?

Might look "a bit" strange to the neighbors, but they already think game players like us are crazy anyway.

For the Aliens, use your drive way with chalk lines for the corridors of "Hadley's Hope".

Just use boxes of various sizes to represent solid terrain. You can place them to break up long lines of sight, make patterns, etc. Place some foliage, and you have outdoors…! ;-)

If 6" = 72", figure scale is 1:12. At that size, ground scale will probably have to be about the same to look right. You should be able to make a building, research facility, space vessel, etc., on a typical gaming table at that scale.
