My most memorable American War of Independence wargame took place nearly 20 years ago at the Wellington Warlords' (the wargaming club of New Zealand's capital city) annual wargaming competition, ‘Call to Arms'.

We have recently located the original hardcopy photos taken of the 2002 Battle of Guilford Courthouse game.

So take a look back at what I think was one of the finest AWI wargames ever, even though it took place nearly nearly two decades ago!

I think the retouching just emphasises how good the miniatures look, especiallly for a game in progress as opposed to a studio shoot.

I remember seeing those photos many years ago. They were spectacular then and time has done nothing to change that.

What a stunning game! I can see why you still remember it so fondly after 20 years.

Those are amazing pictures and can easily help get people into this as a new genre for gaming and getting figures!

Yes, I remember this. This was a huge reason why I almost exclusively starting doing AWI. Beautiful pics, miniatures, terrain…

Thank you for reminding us.

Stunningly beautiful game, in scenery and miniatures, and even more majestic due to nostalgia!
Cheers

Seems like a huge game, and may the redo project proceed amazingly to the point where it is as good if not better than the first, cheers!

Gorgeous! New Zealand has a heck of a lot of good modeler/gamers.
