All, I want to do a couple figures of the 60th for my Portable Wargame forces. My impression was that they wore the rifle green jacket, but with the standard dark blue trousers. Now however I've seen images showing them in all rifle green. Which is correct? |

They were definitely wearing all green during the 1st Anglo- Boer War immediately following the Zulu War. Looking at the online images for the Zulu War, I can't find one with blue trousers. I'd definitely go with all green. link |

I also agree with full green uniform (that's how I painted mine). They also had black belting and equipment with tan dyed helmets. |

Well I guess I have to take something from Col. Durnford as gospel! |

If I remember correctly, Dark blue trousers were parade dress only and unlikely to have been taken to South Africa at all. Infact, I am not certain that the blue trousers were worn by all battalions. As the other chaps say, yes, definitely Green for the war. As well as the hats being dyed, the helmet plate was a matt black cross. |
