Sometimes referenced but really an historical treasure that deserves much more recognition.

Monsieur Frederic Berjaud publishes his own and his friends material on his self-published web site on the Armée française and others:-
frederic.berjaud.free.fr/articles_en_ligne.htm Articles en ligne

There is a more formal introduction page here, but beware it has a number of 'frames' that tend to dislocate the data a bit for me:

Depuis le 1er juin 2017, Soldats de la Grande Armée et la Société d'Etudes Historiques Révolutionnaires et Impériales fondée par notre collègue et ami Jérôme Croyet sont désormais partenaires. Nous espérons que la complémentarité de nos deux sites permettra à tous les passionnés d'enrichir encore plus leurs connaissances sur l'histoire de la Révolution et de l'Empire.

So associated with the slightly more complex site:- assosehri.fr/topic/index.html SEHRI makes a great combination, as they suggest.

Highly recommended.

Additional Information

I didn't want to complicate the introduction but two points to make, which was an inducement to post the thread in the first place.

1- Updates- yes M.Berjaud updates the 'technical' information in the online articles and I fear people may be missing out if they are not regular visitors.

He has delivered significantly detailled documentation updates to many of the regiments pages in both August and most recently late October. Whilst the latter was more specifically regarding common '1813' era data, others may be interested to know.

Occasionally a new regiment will feature and this will be highlighted on the page in the old fashioned but relevant 'symbology' emos.

Note that he is also a collaborator with tmp researcher and historian 'MarbotsChasseurs'.

2- Copyright- M.Berjaud notes his concern about copyright theft:

WARNING: We found some time ago that ill-intentioned people had retrieved our drawings, printed them in the form of cards, taking care to erase our signature; these drawings were then put up for sale on Ebay.
We recall that this site is intended to bring everyone as much knowledge as possible on a topic that we all love. Everyone can take full advantage of it. But for any use other than personal, there are rights to respect. Also, thank you for respecting them.

I think it behooves anyone with honour and respect to report any such violations to the applicable sites and authorities. I too am aware that multiple sites like Pointryst and Yundex have such material available that has been manipulated, but selling commercially and ripping off buyers like us and the copyright owner is illegal.

Dave,

Frederic is a very kind and generous researcher who I believe is a school teacher. His website has given me countless hours of research and I try my best to share whatever I find with him. I can't thank him enough for his help and outstanding website. The amount of information that is free to view is unheard of and his website deserves more views.

Sure I want to write a book in the future, but in the meantime, the only way to push our field of study forward is to share information freely. Frederic generously has done this and I have been able to benefit from our mutual friendship.

Absolutely agree Mike.
I wrote him a personal note congratulating him on the site a year ago but he didn't seem to want to publish it, or reply on my interests, but thats ok.
Maybe the strangled French was too much for him evil grin

Dave,

I wouldn't worry too much as I have sent him quite a few officer's and soldier's service records that have not been posted. I believe he has a long backlog of information that is needed to be posted, such as the Grenier Papers and information from the Strasbourg Archives dealing with General Schauenburg's personal files, which I have seen and are very large and filled with information on most of the regiments on his page.

1- Updates- yes M.Berjaud updates the 'technical' information in the online articles and I fear people may be missing out if they are not regular visitors.

M.Berjaud recently updated details 19-Dec-21 many of the infantry regiments with both 'Eugene' Italy (1807-08) and Napoleon (1813)…

Enjoy the parade ;-)
Merry Christmas etc.

2022

Monsieur Frederic Berjaud has recently updated his articles and added SOME new Regiments to the listing- go there to see some very deep history.

Not all complete era coverage as he's applying limited information he can provide, not entire essays.

Easily found from the main page, link

Fabulous to see details of the 11e Chasseurs Revolution history ;-)

cheers
