This figure was made as a promo for a convention. Picture taken from an article in a wargame's magazine. Wargame's Illustrated wargamesillustrated.net I'm looking for several of these figures. My buddies and I who are involved in a pretty epic 2nd Afghan War campaign are all interested in adding one of these miniatures to our respective collections. Alas none of us have them, no one sells them, and apparently they were a give away to promote a convention many moons ago! Does anyone have any they are willing to sell or trade for? If so please reach out to me. For anyone interested here is the link to our campaign thread on the Lead Adventure Forum. Never Trust Anyone on the frontier, an . . . . epic NWF Campaign link Here are links to some of the other bloggers involved in this NWF Campaign with AAR's, pics, maps, and data on their blogs. Hi Mark, NO, I did not! If I do I'll surely let you know. Please do the same. I think I'm going to have to try and convert figs to make one. |

I was able to acquire one from a contest WI magazine ran many years ago. I don't know if this was ever sold commercially or who it was that made it, alas. But here's mine, and I often bring him into my NW Frontier or other Colonial or Pulp Adventure games as a bit of a fun element -- he's gotten himself seconded to whatever British expedition is going on, using family influence and sheer chutzpah, seeking to make a name for himself and get mentioned in despatches; and if he does "heroic" things like causing a casualty thru gunfire or defeating an enemy in close combat or seizing some objective, it's victory points for the British player. BUT if he's wounded or killed or captured, it's a major victory point bonus for his opponents!

piper909, that… is pretty cool! Even more so since you are mentioning it 2-1/2 since the prior post on this thread! It remains one helluva a fine figure! One which I, together with Sgt. Guinness and all our fellow players in the "Never Trust Anyone on the Frontier!" campaign -- which will enter its 5th continuous year this coming June -- still wish I had in my collection! |
