Not a bad list, I've looked at or played most of the rules mentioned. Did not see "Rank and File" which is a set I need to examine. |

No love for RF&F? Feh! Really, this is just a list of AWI miniatures games, and an incomplete one at that. There is no discussion about what makes each set of rules good or bad, let alone "best". |

I cut my teeth on 1776. Tried a few suggestions there, bought a few more of them. We settled on Age of Reason and The Sword and the Flame. |

Sorry boys but the Carnage and Glory American Revolution rules are superior to any of the ones listed and have been used extensively at recent HMGS conventions…they are not designed for skirmish scale games so some of the rules on that list might be fine if you want to play at that scale but for games that use the regiment/battalion as the base unit nothing compares to the realism and ease of play of Carnage and Glory. |
