Hello all. Looking for an ID on this figure. It appears to be an orc or troll. He's wearing shields and bladed gauntlets and looks like a pit fighter or gladiator. This miniature has its own base (I rebased it here) and came in three pieces: legs, body and left arm. I just noticed it has a rat on its back, directly behind its head. I'm not sure who made this miniature or what it is. The base had no identifying marks or the year of manufacture. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks! |

I have one all painted on my shelf downstairs, If I remember correctly it's an ogre by Reaper. I'm not 100% sure though. |

5thlancer: Hmmm…I can't seem to find it on Reaper's site. |

There was a company back in the early 80's that I cannot remember that had a line of long-haired knuckle dragging "red orcs". If I remember right, they existed briefly and then were picked up by Texas Miniatures which also existed briefly before being bought out by Reaper. This sure has the look of one of those. Update…. false lead. This line is now with Viking Forge. I don't see this particular figure but some sure look the look. link |

Thanks, VSB. It's actually pretty big. The miniature is hunched over; if he was standing straight up he'd be the size of an ogre or small giant. He's 28mm now, though. I thought he might be a Heartbreaker or Earthdawn miniature but no dice. This guy has his own base, not a slotta; and it's irregularly shaped (not circle or oval). Of course there was no identifying marks on him at all… |

You were on the right track with Heartbreaker as this is a Chaz Elliot sculpt and he sculpted for Heartbreaker and did half-trolls or half-ogres for them. :) But this one was for Wizards of the Coast. 40018 Ogre from the D&D Silver Anniversary range. link Cheers! |

5thLancer: any chance you could tell me what the heck is on his back? I'm not talking about the rat on his left shoulder, I mean whatever the other lump is supposed to be. I can't find any painted examples of this miniature and It's driving me nuts! |
