Hmmmm, perhaps I can't see the forest for the trees, but looking at this free set of spacecraft combat rules for small ship combat in Traveller, I can't see the forest for the trees.
There are rules for how many hits you get, and for the various hit location types, e.g. hull, turret, drives, etc., but I can't for the life of me see any sort of way for determining which hull location, or system the hits occur against, randomly. It appears they leave that up to the players to determine on their own, or perhaps they just don't reference a "known" chart that isn't mentioned for that.

What am I missing?
It would be nice to have a chart, or charts for the various small ship types, like:
- Scouts
- Free Traders
- Far Traders
- Merchants
- Ship's Boats
- Cutters
- Close Escorts
- System Defense Boats
- Patrol Boats
- Fighters
- and others.
Anyone have any ideas on this, or has this already been done in another set of rules that we're supposed to use these rules with, and that just aren't mentioned?
I'd like to run some small-scale, Traveller spacecraft games, but so far that seems to be proving more difficult than one would think, especially after the initial release of the rules so many decades ago. From the reading I've done on the subject, it appears I am not the only one to have this concern.
