Howdy,

You used to love playing these games on my Commodore 64 back in the day. I no longer have my Commodore and only have access to Windows 10. I am pretty sure someone has rereleased the Steel Panthers games to be Windows 10 compatible. Anybody happened to know where to find those releases?

Found this easy enough:

I think it was Matrix Games that had a free version of Steel Panthers, either the modern or WWII variant. They offered campaign packs for sale.

They have this version for $50 USD link

Sorry, it was Shrapnel Games: link

I played both W.W. II and "Modern" (if you can call the First Gulf War, 1991, ya, 30 years ago, Modern).

I always remember that even if you tank had a rate of fire of 5 or 6, you would never kill the target until you fired the last shot.

Not that way now Oddball.

OP: they are still making/supporting it (keeping up with patches and whatnot).

I would like to second the suggestion by Stryderg for the Shrapnel Games / Camo Workshop versions (WWII version covers 1930-1946, Main Battle Tank version 1947-2020). They work with Windows 10 and are freely downloadable (though you can pay for a CD version that comes with various extra features).

The games are based on the original Steel Panthers I and II engines, but have been seriously updated with numerous batches over the years.

You can play it online for free at this site: link

Korvessa,

I couldn't find this link. I Have it bookmarked but couldn't think of the name. And an easy enough search wasn't helping.

Stryderg,

They say it isn't tested or enhanced for Win 10.

Thank you everyone else. Old SP and the old AD&D PC Games from my youth. Now on a better machine.

Shrapnel games Steel Panthers WW2 and Modern run very well on windows 10. Have been playing them for years.

Thanks for the link Mr Magoo. They've also got Age of Rifles which is an awesome game.

Wargame Construction Set II: Tanks! is the one I wish someone would update (graphics, sound and game play).
