Been 'missing in action' here for a while.. work and other stuff. Finally making a move back to GWSH.. here is an AAR of a simple game we played last week designed to refresh memory on rules mechanisms etc.. played with 20mm armies.

Kind regards

Thanks, Robin. I like the phased approach, introducing extra variables in each game. The impact of different types of terrain, for example, is important from a planning perspective. Plus the Caucasus battles are very under-represented in WW1.

Thanks Robert. Another small game tonight.. another new'ish player, and a higher terrain density, still 1914 and open'ish warfare though .. watch this space for an AAR.
The Caucasus are indeed under represented in ur gaming. Tonight is the southern part of the eastern front, Austrian vs Russian.

Nice. I just bought the rules so this makes great reading for me.

Are you using the scenario generator, Robin?

Not yet.. I do need to amend it, and then repost the amended version. At the moment we are just making up forces on the fly as we relearn the rules.

And working with what is in the 20mm Russian and Ottoman boxes?

After reading the AAR I went and bought the 2nd edition and Summer Harvest scenario book. I find WWI fascinating. Plus I have always enjoyed Robin's scenarios! I also game it in 1/72.

Thanks

John
