Has anyone bought the Ironclad stls from Wargame Vault? If so would you recommend them? Thanks in advance.

Maybe. What is STL?

It's gonna depend on which files you are talking about. The Long Face Games and Twylite Games ones are pretty good. Haven't tried the Voxelhouse ones.

Hmmm. No, but I have access to a printer. What scale? adjustable?

1/1200. Long Face Games ironclads. How do the long face ones stack up against traditional miniatures? I know they are apples and oranges but I'm just curious.

I have not purchased from Longface games, but I have gotten STLs from Wargames Vault, some of them were fine about half needed to be repaired to print. I know how to fix them and have the right software, but not everyone does. When you buy an STL it really depends on the developer and what software packages they use and whether they have printed samples to make sure their files are ok. I printed some voxelhouse files for a TMPer and they were fine.

I have most of them and am satisfied. The sails on the renaissance galleys are simply flat triangles but printed them with furled sails as I would've anyway. Rescaling may create issues with detail and fragility.

Have bought both makes, both are great, as well as a great selection of ACW ship files on Thingsiverse.com for free.

No problems scaling them up to 1/600 either for ACW. Built a simple spreadsheet that allows me to verify actual length of ship, input to formula and it gives me the actual length the model should be.
