space rock so Earth will not be struck by the rock.

Any bets on how long before some bright people figure
out a way to divert a non-threatening rock's orbit so
it comes down over, for example, Hickville (where I live),
and does a Tunguska ?

Hmmm….

There has been attempts at coming up with something like that for sometime. As we don't want another Tunguska in an highly populated area. Or extinction level event that wiped out the Dinosaurs. 🦖🦕

If history tells us anything … the Earth🌎 will again sooner or later be hit by very a BIG Rock(s) … 🌑

I'm sure they would end up working on it. It does come down to the proverbial Us or Them in the case of Big Rocks falling on the Earth.

Of course we have something like that now … with no rad fall out. I could think of a few places to use them, too …

If the movies have taught us anything, it's that the big rocks are fragile and prone to fragmenting.
Frankly, if you have the technology to deflect it by 1000km, you're better off missing the Earth completely, and using that technology directly against your Fiendish Foe.

Well gee considering we are finding more and more threats popping up that are passing within Lunar orbit…I'd say they better get moving on this.

Well let's hope that those really, really smart people are actually working on this. But they may need funding … funding the current gov't has found better places to spend that $. USD You can't go green if there is no planet to go green on … 🌎

Choosing an expendable hit location is an impractical idea.

There is simply no way to maintain reliable real time location information for Piers Morgan.

Well … don't waste time writing your wills, etc. We are all going to be dead anyway it seems.

But IIRC one elected "official" said we'd all be dead in 11-12 years if we don't go green.

So we are all dead men[and women] walking anyway it appears.
