A local (Detroit area) wargames convention has come back from the Covid-induced exile. Pro or Con took place last weekend and was a blast. Here are some pictures and a short write-up link

Very good!

Our local science fiction/fantasy convention was back this weekend. Again, fewer people than before, chairs more spread out, a smaller turn out at the dealers' room, and not as many robots at the Critter Crunch (fight between remote control robots).

It was great to have it back, even if we had to wear masks inside most of the time.

Excellent little convention. A dozen games at teach time slot. Rob Gendron and his crew had a nice venue, with food service. Flea market and dealers. Anton did not get pics of my game this time, so I'll show below. Pirates in the Congo. Using Congo Adventure rules from Studio Tomahawk, we had Pirates racing Portuguese troops through jungle of Mozambique for treasure circa 1700.

Dang, missed it.

Shoot. How did I miss this? Do they not advertise here on TMP? I'll have to keep an eye out around this time next year.

huron725, next local convention is Spartacon 8JAN22, Causeway Bay Lansing Hotel, Lansing MI (just in case they don't advertise either)

Thanks Anton. Going to try and make this one since only ~45 minutes from me.

I missed running a few games there as well this year. Our local game day at Fort Meigs (www.fortmeigs.org) is coming up on November 6th. It's always on the first Saturday in November. We have been at the fort since 2007. Two sessions, 9am to 12pm and 1pm to 4pm. Winter hours start at the fort on Nov. 1st. and the admission fee drops to $5. USD The museum is open but the stockade closes for the season. Plenty of flea market space and masks are required for all attendees due to the high level of Covid19 in Wood County.
If you would like to run an event, shoot me a response. Standard table size is 5x6.

Kaiju Doug, I will have to make note of that one, I'm in Warren MI and Perrysburg is about the same distance as Lansing.
I survived nine months in masks it won't kill me to go.

We will have ample flea market space at no additional charge. Our GM numbers may be down so table space won't be a problem. So far, The Plastic Guys and George Nafziger have shown interest in attending.

I will be at Spartacon with a variation of Congo, "Vikings in Vinland"

Kaiju Doug, The Fort Meigs website doesn't have any information on the Game Day listed, would you be kind enough to either post here the contact information or email it to me at daftrica89@yahoo

I sent them the updated list since they still have last year's PEL up. I shall repeat it here. The event runs from 9am to 4pm. Two sessions 9 tp 12 and 1 to 4. Games in the mix so far: Medieval Combat, Death in Space, ship tp ship action, F&I War, AWI, Lost World, a Pulp Fiction Scenario, Hoplite Warfare, Wings of War WW1, Iron Fleet naval combat in the Age of Steam, Swamp Wars a Sci-Fi scenario and "Life's No Picnic" my home brew game of ants at war. There are still a few GMs that have not sent me their game yet. The admission at the fort drops to only $5 USD as their Winter hours start on Nov, 1st. Plenty of flea market space for attendees to buy or sell. And remember that masks are required at all times inside the facility. Please obey this mandate. I do not want to screw up our great relationship we have with the fort.
