China is continuing to press its air force on ops around the island nation of Taiwan, with the largest number of aircraft sortied today:

The number of sorties has spiked considerably in the last week, with large operations occurring on a daily basis, and with China pressing home the point that the USA will not be defended, just weeks after Afghanistan was abandoned to the Taliban.
Looks like I'm going to have to purchase more of those lovely, 1/600th scale Sukhois. Oh drat!
There are a few rules options available for gaming out these encounters, for your aerial gaming pleasure, but I'm rather partial to the AirWar:C21 rules for that.
If playing solo, you can use dice to determine if/when things go hot, with perhaps a 10% chance of either side kicking that off at any time, or weighting it in favor of the Chinese doing so, since they are the aggressors here, if you are so inclined.
Add in another die roll, or rolls to see if the USA and Japan (and others?) actually come to the aid of Taiwan, should a shooting war actually starts.
