I am making my first foray into colonial period wargaming. The following questions may seem a little silly to old hands but I really don't have a clue.

What Vallejo blue should I use for 17th Lancers and Royal Artillery uniforms? Also what blue should be used for Infantry officer undress uniforms?

What shade of grey should be used for the artillery pieces. Are the barrels black?

What colour would be best for bayonets, steel or silver, I will be using 10mm figures and could do with as much advice as possible as I have only ever previously painted 15mm and 20mm moderns.

Thank you in advance.

Thank you very much for your help, bullant. The Uniformology links are just what I needed to get me started in this period.
