Hello, we have the dates for our gaming day in Albany NY. The following is posted from an email.

Hey Guys,
Great news! the event is all systems go…for Saturday, November 20 from 8am-7pm at the Joseph E. Zaloga Post on 4 Everett Road Extension in Albany NY 12205. If you are vaccinated no worry about wearing a mask, if you are not vaccinated you have to wear a mask…this is the Post's rule. The room is a very good size, I saw it today and was impressed. We have plenty of table and chairs….the bar serves at noon and we can handle our own food…will get into that later. The cost per person to play no matter how long they are there for the day is $5. USD I am looking at a max of 30 people for this event…..so please contact me as soon as possible as I will be keeping a list of attendees.

As far as gaming goes, the doors will open at 8am….so guys wanting to run a morning game you can start setting up at 8am for a 9am game-start if you want…but really it's whatever you want to do…if you are more of a 10am or start time kinda guy then take into account when deciding setup time and such. The afternoon games I am looking at 12:30-1pm start times. I am roughly looking for about 4-5 morning games and about 4--5 games in the afternoon. If anyone wants to run a game at a specific time slot let me know….It will be first come first serve getting games into me. This is pretty laid back event and I want guys to kick back and just play and worry to much about times….if this goes well we can do this event/venue regularly. I will send out regular updates on the games and such as I hear from people.

I am really looking forward to seeing our Northern NY faithful at this "Battle Day" event and having a good time. It will be nice to reconnect with friends.

Thank You….SKOL!!!!
Steve

Sounds great, Irish Marine.

Good luck with the event.

P.S.--Suggest you post your event on other boards, such as "Conventions and Wargaming Shows" and "Wargaming in the U.S."

When it comes to publicity, TMP is your best friend.

Finally, in an effort to defray your group's start up costs, you might consider dedicating some tables to a flea market area and charge a small fee per table. Not everyone in Northern NY can haul their excess stuff to a major convention (whatever that is these days). It might also help to increase your attendance.

Good luck.

You can attend if you want.

I'm thinking about it.

I'm sure some of the SWA crowd from Council will also consider showing up.

FYI, speaking of gaming events in the Albany area, the SWA will host a game day on Oct. 9 starting at 11am at Flights2 (the former Flights of Fancy) on Sand Creek Road.

Enjoy the games.

Yup, but one of our group is having a game day for his 50th birthday.

I would like to attend. I am from Maryland, but will be moving to the Western Massachusetts area by mid November. A little about myself, I retired from full time work about 4 years ago and told myself that I would get into historical gaming once I retired. I played often in high school. I retired and joined a group but then COVID struck and so the in person gaming took a hit for everyone including myself. So please save me a spot and if you have a games sign up form or site let me know. If its just join when you get there that is fine also. My interests are mostly WW2 and French Indian War, but will play most anything. I am also hoping to meet others in the area to join up and play in the future. Thanks.

Enjoy the birthday party game day, Irish Marine.

AACO0992, welcome to the area. You will find plenty of WW2 and FIW games on the schedule. FIW is very popular in upstate New York, as many of the battlefields are only a short drive away. When you get here, plan a trip to Fort Ticonderoga and West Point. Both locations have great Museums. You will be glad you did.

Have hit some sites already. Went to Crown Point this past summer, which was on my bucket list. Looking forward to some games.
