"You realise the casualties are American citizens who suffer worse health outcomes, living standards, opportunities than many other OECD countries. You spend a lot of money on little military adventures whilst American mothers die at the third world rates in child birth. Eg link" arealdeadone – you realise that you are the typical smug Australian? I am an Australian too and recognise you a mile off. You're a special kind of virtue signalling idiot: "Well Australia has universal health care, why are Americans so dumb and don't?" I hate your kind. You are an embarrassment. The USA is a country that chewed 5 millions times more than we did for the freedoms you use every day (and are soon about to lose because you won't fight for them) YOU expect America to have the same standards as you do in your personal sheltered life but also to fight all the wars and bleed all the blood you're not prepared to. You suck so much f'n man. |

forper23 +10 the typical smug Australian? Had no idea … but never met anyone from Down Under. Worth Repeating : I am an Australian too and recognise you a mile off. The USA is a country that chewed 5 millions times more Bleeped text than we did for the freedoms you use every day (and are soon about to lose because you won't fight for them) YOU expect America to have the same standards as you do in your personal sheltered life but also to fight all the wars and bleed all the blood you're not prepared to. Again I believed I was the only one to see that with ardo. I tried to be generally a bit "diplomatic" so I won't get DH'd. As has happened to me many times in the past. Regardless, I agree with everything posted here forper23 … 🥇🏆🎯 |

"Again I believed I was the only one to see that…." Not the only one…, Legion 4. Just eating popcorn and waiting for the DH boom to drop. |

In case you Americans/Canadians and Forper (probably historically illiterate like most Australians) don't know, Australians have been dying in other people's wars since Second Boer War 1899 before there even was a unified Australia. Boer War WWI Russia 1919 WWII – initial part was "other people's war" ie Europeans duking it out in North Africa and Middle East. Pacific War was very well about Australia Korean War Malayan Insurgency Borneo Confrontation Vietnam Afghanistan Iraq 2003 War against ISIS. Many of these wars have nothing to do with freedom – supporting dictators in Vietnam or Korea ( Ok, Rhee was elected once!). Boer War sees the creation of concentration camps.
USA has destroyed democracies and/or supported anti-democratic forces numerous times – Nicaragua, Lebanon, Syria, Chile, Iraq, Guatemala, Vietnam, Bolivia, Argentina etc etc. It's still happening eg US support for coup in Honduras in 2009, coup in Egypt in 2013 and general attempts to subvert democratic processes in Iraq to subvert Shia influence. Ukraine may also be another case where US supported toppling of a democratically elected leader. US basically picks and choses when it is pro- or ant-democracy.
--- As for universal healthcare, given 33% of Australian heart disease and cancer sufferers miss treatments due to cost, dental, physiotherapy etc isn't even covered and mental health only barely, it's a universal healthcare system in name only. I pay $50.00 AUD out of pocket for a general practitioner and anywhere between $100.00 AUD – $300.00 AUD for a specialist (government component is $39 USD and $75 USD respectively). Many of these explicitly state they don't charge government rate (bulk billing) for low income types and they are expected to pay full amount. I recently spent thousands of dollars (close to $6,000 USD) on a minor health issue (recurrent dull pain) recently with a lot of specialist visits ($100-$200 out of pocket per visit), ultrasounds/MRIs ($200 out of pocket per visit) and physiotherapy ($75 out of pocket per visit). I could afford it but the average poor person on $350 USD-$480 per week) could not. Australia also has the third worst social safety net in the OECD after Greece and New Zealand.
People like Forper support this decline of social safety nets by continuously electing right wing governments in cahoots with big energy and other companies. Current PM actually turned up to parliament with a chunk of coal telling parliament how it is nothing to be scared of! |

Once again biased, skewed and Anti-American. Nothing new … nothing to see here … move along … |

And the A'stan situation in the USA continues … more poor leaderships' decisions that don't effect them … From Military.com : link |

On the upside it seems that the Taliban is still cooperating to get Americans out: link Also, saying that the US is selective, at best, in supporting democracy globally is hardly "anti-American" and more a recognition of reality. Most nations put their interests above aspirational values and cloak it in righteous rhetoric. Few have the global clout of the US. |
Legion 4 | 07 Oct 2021 12:38 p.m. PST |
If the Taliban are cooperating it is because they want the current weak US gov't to recognizing them as an actual state, etc. When in fact they are just a band of jihadi terrorists. They never will be anything else if they continue their Sharia law ways. Plus they think somehow they hope the USA will give them $$$. Like the USA does with there creator & supporter – Pakistan And yes, the USA does support various nations … both good & bad, etc., etc. But that is the reality … And IMO almost everything some here say is generally biased, skewed and Anti-American. |

Just saw on the news with some blacked out photos of an ANA female soldier tortured then executed by the Taliban. I guess not all got the word. And they just can't stop their predilection for their 15th Century ways … |
Steve Wilcox | 08 Oct 2021 12:15 p.m. PST |
And they just can't stop their predilection for their 15th Century ways … "… in the nineties, the Taliban had offered to supply electricity to the village, and the local graybeards had initially refused, fearing black magic." link Probably not a ripe area for progress if there are people even more Taliban than the Taliban! |
Legion 4 | 09 Oct 2021 11:46 a.m. PST |
Yeah … some really are wedded to their old ways. What can you do when their "leaders", etc., think modern tech is "magic" ? |
Steve Wilcox | 10 Oct 2021 8:45 a.m. PST |
Looks like a giant red flag to me! "A Taliban supporter who rents land near a UK nuclear submarine base has been told to leave the site by its Iranian owner." link |

Yep !!! Any supporter of terrorist organizations should be locked up. Gitmo has a lot of space these days. Four former Gitmo prisoners, traded to the Taliban, by Obama are now in some of the top leadership position in the Taliban "gov't" … Can you say "DOH!" !!!! Just saw on the news. The Taliban will not help the USA with going after ISIS and of course AQ. As AQ is really part of the Taliban. So who thought they would help infidels killing jihadis even if those jihadis are their "enemy" … ? I think some in the current US gov't just don't get it. Just like the State Dep. was surprise that the Taliban was not inclusive in their "gov't" will including women. WDF ? Do these some in US gov't live under as rock …? The Taliban, AQ, ISIS, any jihadis for that matter are blinded by a radical form of religious beliefs, etc. You can't talk to these troglodytes if you are an infidel … With any real success. You can try like the past admin. But it went back to the US bombing, etc., them. They broke any agreements. So even showing the world we tried. You can't deal with these jihadi/terrors What is not to get ? Produce a lot of ordinance for drones and other air assets. Seems the only way to deal with jihadis/terrorists/troglodytes … 🚀🚀🚀🚀🚀 💥💥💥💥💥💥💥💥💥💥💥☠☠☠☠☠☠☠☠☠☠ |
