Given the interest in the game on this site, I think this would be a popular contest. Instead of a standard Bugs attack Troopers game, let the creativity of TMPers shine through. Entrance guarantees citizenship!

Sounds like a plan to me. I'd even enter!

That's one volunteer – two more and this goes on the list to be scheduled…

(Jim, would you participate?)

Guys,

I would love to give a scenario for SST a try also….

Two down…

I've been working on some myself, so add me to the interested list.

OK, by my count that makes the required minimum of 3 contestants, so this goes onto the contests list.

Should their be any limits or restrictions? A max or minimum point size?

Martian Root Canal11 Oct 2005 5:32 p.m. PST

I'd participate. Or alternatively, Bill, if you'd like, I can set up the parameters for the contest and bow out of participating.

Two thoughts for parameters: one, what can you do with just what's in the box set; and two, what can you do with a 1000 pts per side scenario. Or three, do both and how do they link together into a mini-campaign?

The G Dog Fezian11 Oct 2005 7:18 p.m. PST

Good thoughts Jim.

My first impulse was to run amok with what I have available to game with, but for others – their figures may vary.

On the flip side, the box set is really limited and in my mind punishes the MI a bit.

Okay, I don't have hordes of Hoppers or the new Blister/Blaster bugs, but I can get my hands on some Brains, Tankers and a horde Firefries.

If we let the imagination run wild, its always an excuse to buy more figures…heh heh heh. Here comes some 3000 point mayhem!

The real limit to size (beyond the actual figures) is that point size is a direct limit on the Bug Priority Level. I'd like the bugs to be at least PL 2 in order to field Brains, tankers and the rest. Say 1900 points?

I'll jump in on this one. If enough people are interested you could do a contest for each priority level???

DAWGIE12 Oct 2005 3:32 p.m. PST

DAWGIE has a question or two.

would i need to supply photos of the game?

would i need to limit myself to SST rules or could i use other rules for a SST sirmish?

would the scenario be limited to SST vs BUGS, only?

I'd think we'd focus on the SST game and miniatures from Mongoose, but if you had other miniatures you wanted to use, I don't see why not. Some folks play in 15mm.

You could do Skinnie vs. bugs/MI, but their army list in the basic rules is still pretty thin.

My two cents

Kewl… I use mongooses SST rules but use 15mm figs. Plus wife just got a digital camera so I'd be able to take sum pics.
