Hi, I have recently bought Kevin Calder from of The Iron Brigade fame Bonnie Blue Flag rules for the ACW. I have limited space in which to play and due to Sars Cov 2 I am unable to get to the club. I was wondering if anyone knew of any scenarios, other then those in the book, that might be kicking around or if anyone knew of any scenarios that might be adaptable for the rules and preferably on a 6' x 4' table. Thanks. My Just Add Water Miniature Painting Blog: justaddwater-bedford.blogspot.com |

You might want to get this scenario book (and its companion Vol 1) from Wargames Vault -- TMP link I got both of them last week and the scenarios are well thought out and most are playable in a small table area. They are rules agnostic. Jim P.S. I enjoy looking at your painted units. You have such a deft hand! |

one hour wargames by Neil thomas has 30 generic scenarios you could use. Wargame Vault has loads of entries for acw scenarios as well. there's also Programmed wargame scenarios by C S Grant. |

Hi, The scenarios in One Hour Wargames are for forces of about the size of the Basic Force on P12 of Bonnie Blue Flag (BBF)and they are what I'm going to use. I'm using 10 mm figs on bases with a 25mm frontage and halving all BBF measurements. If you want to try something bigger then some of the smaller scenarios in the Potomac publications scenario books (available as pdfs in Wargames Vault) would probably do. I read in a post on Lead Adventure by the author of BBF that an infantry or cavalry base in the rules equates to 50 men. Batteries are 4 or 6 gun as listed in the rules. The scenario maps would probably fit if you used 15 mm figs on bases of 25mm frontage (or individual 28mm figs on bases with a 25mm frontage) and halved all measurements (so they will fit the Potomac ground scale of 1" = 50 yards). For scenarios with more than a brigade a side use the rules for commanders on p 28 of BBF. For units larger than 6 bases use the rules for larger sized units on p 29. Hope this helps. All the best, George. |
