I have provided links below to my blog giving details of the first 'Bill Hooks BASH' held at Boards and Swords in early September. I hope that you find the reports entertaining and of use.

The Wars of the Roses seem like the highpoint for colorful heraldry, with their banners and tabards. Beautiful armies!

Superb on every level.

Is that a Bourchier banner that's upside down, Steve?

Hi Macolla, Well spotted! Yes, I was 'outed' for this on the day! I seem to have a habit of putting flags on upside down. I managed the same trick with my Napoleonic Brits, 2/44th Regt.

The good news that this was an easier fix. As it was PVA on metal, I could just 'flip' it over and slide the flag down the metal spear. I had only temporarily fixed the flag to the movement tray.

I was working on producing a batch of flags to 'pretty up' my units for the event. Sometimes more haste is less speed!

Bill hooks seems like such a fun game. I wish it was scaled up slightly for larger historical battles.

Although designed as a skirmish/small battle game, it has already been scaled up by players. Take a look at 'Eric the Sheds' blog. He has re-fought all of the major battles of the Wars of the Roses in sequence with as many as 8 players a game.

The rules are flexible enough to allow you to adapt them to a larger game and certainly lend themselves to multiplayer games.

Thanks Steve! I will have a look indeed. I've been looking for a long time for a set of rules to do Mortimers Cross in 28mm.

My last choice was Hail Caesar but I've never felt like it's a perfect fit, just more of a gap filler.

Cheers!

Game ordered. For £6.00 GBP who could argue.
