Just a brief shoutout to the guys at WOW Buildings for their great customer service. I'd been searching for some STL files to print some buildings for Vietnam gaming and came across their kickstart package. The whole thing was quite a bit, around $200 USD, and as I'd not purchased from them before I was reluctant to take that deep a dive. I dropped them a quick note to see if they would split out some of the items and they literally responded within 30 minutes and had files up on their site the next day. They print up beautifully and I'm now a happy customer. Highly recommend their work. |

I have the WOW Hue buildings, had them printed, and they really are nice. |

I had some early ones approximately 3 years ago before they were available as files, in other words they were printed and shipped – they were quite grainy and you can see the print layers and quite a few misprint defects around the window frames etc. – now that you can print them elsewhere, does anyone have a recommendation for a third party printer who uses high quality material and can minimize those issues? the designs themselves are excellent |

I just got Paul to add their hooches to the website as well so I can try them out and rescale them for using with Company B in 1/35th scale. I am going to try rescaling the ground scale but keeping the height similar which is the sort of thing that Hovels do with their buildings. As it is a grid based game the buildings are only representative, so I think it will look okay. Mike |

But perhaps they were printed using ABS Plastic and an FDM printer and not resin using an SLA printer? If so, I am encouraged that using resin material and an SLA printer could produce much better results – can anyone confirm? As said, the designs are really excellent link |

Ignoring the work in progress paint job, this is the Vietnam mortar pit I printed up yesterday. It's a FDM printer using PLA. I printed with a 0.15mm layer height and a standard 0.4mm line width.

PeterH, my buildings were printed by a company in Virginia and shipped to Washington state. I think it was with ABS plastic and there was a fair amount of lining and layers on some of the buildings. I did a fair amount of sanding, and while imperfect they turned out fine. Most importantly I got the look and game I really wanted.
