Our sister site, where wargamers can engage in political and other potentially acrimonious discussions. thebluefez.com |

Or, you can just stay out here and watch the deniers and political insults fly without danger of getting sent to the Dog House. |

Oh, this isn't the Blue Fez? I took a quick scan of the various threads currently on TMP and was mistaken. |

Apparently everything is related to toy soldiers and playing with same. H |

If you're hanging out at TMP and you look out the back window and there's shouting coming from a little shack, that's TBF. There's like two people in there, and no windows. |

It's been better. It may be great a again. I'm not sure what it takes to make a place like that work. Telling folks to take their political discussion over there and not allowing them here under 'this is vaguely related to gaming' would be a good start. |

TMP has really gone down the toilet in recent years. I am the last of my gaming circle who still visits or posts. Not sure why I bother, most wargaming related posts have a response or two but any political thread (whether world or domestic level) has scores of posts. Sometimes I search the authors to see how many gaming relevant posts they make, most make nearly none. |
Editor in Chief Bill | 23 Sep 2021 11:58 p.m. PST |
Can't you just not click on those topics, rather than demand everyone else be censored? |
Prince Alberts Revenge | 24 Sep 2021 4:23 a.m. PST |
Thanks for the advice Bill. I will just go to the comments sections of FOX and MSNBC news articles, I will probably find just as much gaming relevant topics there as here. |

Not demanding censorship but worried by the fact that a lot of simpel topics change info (semi) political Posts. |
Dan Cyr | 24 Sep 2021 8:01 a.m. PST |
The political insults, political name calling, nationalism chest beating or whining, conspiracy spreading about medicine, politics, weather change, etc., have led to the site being less, by far, what it once was. I'd not recommend this site to a new comer to the hobby or a young person. Just the thread head lines would weird them out, let alone the way topics are hijacked to non gaming areas. Its allowed, so many of us fall guilty to falling down the rabbit hole. |

I've been censored for trying to point out this is 'supposed' to be a gaming site. It is a pale shadow, and a moon cast shadow at that, of what it once was. And it sounds like one less poster now. Sure, we can 'not' read a post. But we are here because we hope to read a post of interest Directly related to gaming. When too few things of interest are posted, then there is no longer a need to visit. And without visitors, the advertisers go away, too. It is ironic that the editor rails against censorship yet there is plenty of that going on on this page – unfortunately, from my view, it seems those most wanting a return to value for the many get censored while those engaging in posts irrelevant to gaming (even by the widest of stretches) are given incredible latitude. That does not bode well for the future of this site. |

I'd be really curious what the median post count is for miniature related threads vs others. I wonder if almost everything that can be usefully said about miniatures has already been said. |

I'll say it again, stop reading things that trigger your . what on earth does this mean? |
Dan Cyr | 24 Sep 2021 7:16 p.m. PST |
He means, pretend you did not actually read something that was foolish, stupid, insulting or demeaning, and just move on. Happens to me regularly when I stumble across a thread with a header that misleads me or a thread is hijacked from an original hobby related subject into what ever someone decides to start spewing their latest thoughts on weather change, politics, COVID, sexual or racial disgruntlement, etc., usually done with a nice layer of snark. |

I guess it was the needless pejorative "" which makes me wonder what the poster was trying to get across. I'm assuming that as it followed my previous post it was some sort of a response, however pointless, and I still don't understand it. My point, as others have mentioned, is that TMP seems to be more focused on non-miniature threads. My question was is that real or not and statistical analysis would be interesting. |

I've been censored for trying to point out this is 'supposed' to be a gaming site. It is a pale shadow, and a moon cast shadow at that, of what it once was. And it sounds like one less poster now. That's a good example of why you're getting censored. Buy a clue, fellow! No business will allow its forum to be used to attack it. Sure, we can 'not' read a post. But we are here because we hope to read a post of interest Directly related to gaming. When too few things of interest are posted, then there is no longer a need to visit. And without visitors, the advertisers go away, too. You seem unwilling to accept the fact that the current policy was VOTED IN BY THE TMP COMMUNITY. It's what the people here want. So when you say 'we are here because' you are flat out wrong, the polls tell us otherwise. Only a minority object to the current policy. Concern troll! Concern troll! TMP is doing quite well, thank you. Adults are often capable of choosing what to read, and taking responsibility for their choices. If you don't like the forum rules – yes, those too have been voted on by the TMP community! As Editor Gwen says, have an nice day. |

I'm assuming that as it followed my previous post it was some sort of a response, however pointless, and I still don't understand it. He was telling you that you are too sensitive, or easily upset. TMP seems to be more focused on non-miniature threads. My question was is that real or not and statistical analysis would be interesting. I count 24 new topics on the main forum today, all of which are focused on issues related to the hobby. Even the Star Trek topic is germane for the many Star Trek gamers here. So 100% miniature-related thread, 0% non-miniature threads on the main forum. |

I think you're stretching it with the Captain Kirk uniform relating to miniatures. :) My question was more in line with the large number of responses to the Historicon mask policy threads, neither of which can be construed as as miniatures related unless you squint really hard after 5 or 6 shots of tequila. Regarding the telling me that someone is too sensitive, so it's okay to call someone a candyass but wrong to call them a variety of other names? Just working to understand the process. I'm still confused as to how, in this thread, something could be construed as sensitive but wth do I know. |

Wow. All of this because I asked where the blue fez was? I won't bother to ask about the John. I'll just find a corner in the basement. |

And btw, though I am new here, and have made quite a few political posts (seems to be a thing here, and I'm cool with it) I think I have made considerably more wargaming posts. I take a (very moderate) pride in the HOTT VSF Africa thread, which I started, and I and about four other guys are keeping alive with multiple (quite imaginative, I think) army lists for Hordes of the Things in this period. Certainly something that is not only gaming related, but very useful to gamers! Why does it have to be, "If it's not my way, in all things and at all times, then you guys all have to change and conform!"? Why not just look at the name of the thread, ask yourself if it contains the name "Trump" or "Biden", along with a certain well known expletive starting with the sixth letter of the alphabet, and, if it ain't your thing, go on to the next thread? |

My question was more in line with the large number of responses to the Historicon mask policy threads, neither of which can be construed as as miniatures related unless you squint really hard after 5 or 6 shots of tequila. As you noted, the discussion is directly related to Historicon. so it's okay to call someone a candyass but wrong to call them a variety of other names? Apparently not, as it was removed. |
