Back in August at Nashcon I purchased Mantic's Armada Starter Set (brand new, still in shrinkwrap). Unfortunately, when I opened it I found that three of the models had damaged or missing parts. I sent an e-mail to Mantic, and they responded promptly, saying they would ship me replacement parts. They said it might be several weeks before I received anything due to shipping difficulties.

Well, yesterday my shipment arrived. They sent me three new ship kits in blister packs. And it looks like they've changed the model structure slightly, probably to solve the very issues which produced my complaint. As a result, I realize that I can build all the ships just by swapping around the parts a bit and just letting some of the ships either be damaged or functioning under different sail… not a bad thing. So though I really only needed the missing parts, Mantic went above and beyond, and gave me more than I asked for. I now not only have the replacements for my ships, I have the ability to expand my little fleets in unique ways.

So a hearty Thank You to Mantic. And yes, this sort of service will indeed lead me to make other purchases.
