"The Ribe Vikinge Center is a kind of open-air museum with authentic house reconstructions from the years 710-980 from Ribe, Denmark's oldest city. I was quite late for my visit, about an hour before the facility closed, but I had the great advantage that it made me the only visitor. The museum park is populated by a large group of craftsmen and reenactors in historical costumes. As a visitor, you are approached unsolicited and receive a lot of detailed knowledge. I liked that very much, because you are always involved immediately and not carelessly scurry past interesting things…" UT

Great photos! I really need to fish out at least one of my runestones and paint it brightly, instead of the natural stone color I originally painted it. I also like the shield design and the "lived in" look of the village. Adding Ribe to my list of places to visit if I ever make it to Denmark. Grelber |
