With the typical brittleness of resin, wouldn't katanas, daisho scabards, gumis and yaris be a nightmare to keep "alive" at 15mm scale? |

You can use flexible resins. There was a youtube I watched just the other day demonstrating minis printed with a mix a flexible resin and normal resin. |

I sure would be interested in 15mm or even 28mm samurai miniatures I could 3d print. |

Look at the page for the Bluewillow Hollow Kickstarter from Zombiesmith. Josh put up a video from the people who make the resin he's using for those minis. The resin is *extremely* flexible and exactly perfect for something like a katana or naginata. In fact, the Jaarl have some weapons like that. The brittleness of resin is no longer an issue if you do things right. |

Thanks to both of you Nick and Andrew. I'm better educated on the topic now. LOL :-) |

Project Wargaming has 3D samurai files. link Meant for 6mm prints so they may not have the detail of 15mm when scaled up. |

I know this post is a few months old, but there is a decent Kickstarter going right now on exactly this subject; link |

I think I saw someone making some samurai ( but maybe it was greek, which I want also) on MyMiniFactory the other day, they have some saies on till the end of December. I know I saw some samurai ratmen, cant remember the name, and I cant figure why someone hasnt 3d sculpted some of the popular wargaming armies for things other than Warhammer. I think they were for 28mm but I have found that many miniatures can be scaled up or down, as long as they dont have the weapons to thin. I do 15mm fanatasy for my wargaming, and I have recently been scaling some 28mm stls down to 15mm without much problem. Just looked at that Kickstarter, they look nice, going to have to get those STL to add to my list of things to print. One of the problem with historicals, is many of the historical wargames are slow to the 3d printing party, and they dont seem to support things like these kickstarters like the fantasy people do. Also, anyone have any good 15mm greek armies to 3d print, I know there are a couple roman, but havent really seen the greek. |

Kyoushuneko Miniatures at myminifactory has many japanese/samurai miniatures. they are designed for 28mm but they look like they would reduce fine for 15mm ( especially if you do the 18mm larger sized 15mm. |
