This photo isn't a western movie still, but a shot of my latest project: building Renedra's 1/56 scale plastic kitset of a ramshackle house.

My aim in painting (er, un-painting) this model was to make it look un-painted and un-loved!

There are more pics and a link to how I did the 'un-painting' on my blog here: link

Well done.

Nice work and thank you. I didn't even know that kit existed.

Great job on a great looking kit.

It's where Trash lived before there were trailers.

Very good work! I live out in the Wild West, and see places in pretty much this condition (and sometimes worse) when I drive out in the country.

My own experiments with recreating the fading, flaking cheap white paint of the original buildings have not turned out very well.

And yes, hereabouts buildings like this might be useful for even modern scenarios.

Are you also going to get the ramshackle barn from Renedra to go with this?

You're going to lower the property values in the neighborhood.
Nice work

The only thing you need is a couple of chickens on the roof.

The only thing you need is a couple of chickens on the roof.

Warlord Games produces a set of plastic farmyard animals that contains several chickens, as well as geese, ducks, goats, pigs, sheep, cats, dogs, cows and donkeys.

Looks really good.

There was a local SAAB dealership out in the boonies that would have chickens squatting on the roofs. Naming no names.
It took a long time for them to lose their dealership.

Great work, Roly. It reminds me of some of the old houses in Westport where we would conduct drug search warrants and good old fashion domestic disputes. Hadn't seen a coat of paint for 80 years and thankfully a few of them have been condemned after the recent flooding there.
