It has always puzzled me why female snake men would have boobs. |

To sell figures, John, to sell figures. |

But the female figure is surely a mermaid, not a snakeperson – she has a fish tail! |

All I got was a Log-In page. Going from the comments here, I'm guessing the "loss" was her clothes… ;-) |

arthur1815, I never heard of a fish suckling its young either… |

But if one considers that dolphins are mammals and that the mermaid legend may derive from sailors observing mammals like manatees, a sea-going mammalian humanoid with a tail shaped rather like that of a fish is not such an impossibility. The problem with the model is the depiction of scales on the tail. |

Snakemen and mermaids are biologically silly from the start, but if you've got something with the upper body of a woman, why wouldn't she have breasts? Why do they make less sense than other mammalian characteristics like outer ears? |

Unfortunately, there is a genetic condition called Sirenomelia which is also known as "mermaid syndrome". See link |

I just assume that mermaids are magical beings and don't worry about the biology. Great paint job. |
