An order of US M10's has just dropped through the post from a UK company called Scalefiend that do resin models and parts mostly for 1:72. Got four reasonably nice looking models separate hull, turret, tracks and gun (which I'm a bit sceptical of). Some flash, but nothing surprising IMO. Detail looks okay, I've not checked their size with a ruler but they 'look right'. Not tried to put them together yet, but no obvious show stoppers on visual inspection aside from the flash.

I hadn't come across Scalefiend before, I found them only because I was surfing eBay for 1:144-stuff, which seems to be a new thing for them. The order was a bit of punt, but prompt service and the price point is pretty good IMO. They do a couple of Sherman variants and some US/UK tank destroyers at the moment.

I promise I'll post some pic once they migrate from the in tray-pile to the pre-workbench pile!

Never heard of them.

Thanks for the heads up.

There are a few companies making minis in resin, that are of very high quality. Another one on eBay is Kami…. something – they have a nice range of WWII and Cold War offerings.

There's another one in the Netherlands, whose name escapes me right now. Superb stuff too.

Checked their website, they have a really nice set of 1/72 stowage. link Would be nice if they made that in 1/144, I would buy a bunch of them.

Agreed. At first I was really enthusiastic.

But I clicked on the large stowage set…out of stock
US Army helmets…out of stock
US 57 A/T Gun ….you guessed it.

Of course that just makes them even more desirable. So, a great find….many thanks

Pre-clean up shot and that was the worst one. The flash has since been easily removed and they've had a warm soapy bath. Not quite 1:144 by my calculation actually somewhere between 1:145 to 1:146.

For info. They've added a Pz IV Ausf D (nice to see some early war stuff), Hetzer and Stuart to their range. Also possibly another Sherman variant.

And the Panther Ausf G. Looking at the pictures and price it compares favourably with Butler Printed Miniature's version.

Just in case people haven't spotted, the Scalefiend 1:144 range seems to have exploded in size and scope (just as I got out of the scale).

A bump for ROU's Scalefiend recommendation – good stuff!

Reposting here what I posted in this long thread over here.

I've placed a couple orders from Scalefiend, and have a few notes:

I don't know how Scalefiend can charge so little for shipping, but it makes their miniatures hard to resist. The miniatures themselves are relatively cheap compared to others.

The trucks are all great. I've ordered a dozen each of the Zis-5 and Opel Blitz. They are single-piece prints, and they have reasonable detail and good proportions, so they're really hard to beat for the price. If Scalefiend keeps creating logistics and support vehicles like this, I'll keep ordering them.

The M3 Stuart and T-34/85 had an undersized turret peg, so the turret rattles around in the hull and falls out too easily. I could fix this, but I don't want want to fix it 60 times, so I'm just not ordering any more of these until/unless the problem gets fixed. I told the owner about the problem and he does want to address it. I like both models otherwise, especially at the price.

The M4A3 Sherman 76mm turret fit great (so I know they can do it), but the treads were separate pieces that need to be glued on (just like those pictured above), and have no locating pegs or slots. I lodged a minor quibble about this with the owner, and he told me he plans to redo all the Shermans so the treads are one piece with the hull (as with most other 3D printed tanks). I can wait, I have a lot of other projects ahead of my US forces anyway.
