I'm looking for miniatures to serve as shamans. Historical accuracy isn't important. I want them to be wearing animal skins and/or animal costumes. Here's a picture (I did a quick google search) of the kind of thing I'm looking for: picture Jeff Valent has two female shaman that could work but they aren't wearing enough animal paraphenalia. Some of Maidenhead Miniatures' warriors could work but they're only female. I'd like some males too. I've also considered Games Workshop's amazons and ratskin warriors. What else is out there? Are there any Native American or Barbarian lines that have what I'm looking for? Thanks! |

You may want to try Foundry or Gripping Beast Viking ulfhednar. The Foundry has a couple of naked figures wrapped in animal skins. |

Check out Mirilton fantasy (formerly Grenadier) under both Wood Elves (look for druids) and Barbarians, they have some great shaman-looking types: link |

Mirliton/Grenadier.it doesn't seem to have the shaman with antlers though: link You might be able to get him 2nd hand though. Or possibly Companion miniatures, aka Snot & Grot. But they don't have any webpresence. |

I'll second the recommendation of the Grenadier Wood Elf Shaman with antler headdress. It's a really nice-looking mini, and sounds like exactly what you want, Randall. |

I think there are a few usable figs in the Sons of Kronos line for Chronopia, as well. - Monk |

Steve Barber's Prehistoric range has one, as well as a captive to go with him. The shaman doesn't have the deer antlers, though. |

"You may want to try Foundry or Gripping Beast Viking ulfhednar. The Foundry has a couple of naked figures wrapped in animal skins." Never knew Prehistoric shamans looked like Vikings with wolf skin pelts, interesting. |

REAPER made a very nice witch woman for BOBBY JACKSON's line of cavemen. no picture or link unless REAPER still has one available. GW feral orks can be painted up to look like exceptionally ugly NEANDERTHAL shaman.

ANOTHER excellent source for "cavemen" are the tribals from the COPPLESTONE and FOUNDRY DARKEST AFRICA lines. seems like i remember there being one or two shamaen made by FOUNDRY for DA.

Dawgie, Is the Reaper one you had in mind the same one I mentioned above, or do you know of another one? Thanks. CC |
